1 October 2020 — New Beginnings

The FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH we take for granted — BUT perhaps we could take it as an opportunity to reflect upon the month just gone, in this case September. What is it that stands out in our minds about the month? What were the circumstances which PLEASED us, SADDENED us, ANGERED us or were CAUSE FOR REGRET?

If we ponder on these questions: The best thing which happened in September was ….. The disappointments I experienced in September were …my expectations which were not met were …. — we may be able to clear ourselves of feelings which are not conducive to our feeling at peace with ourselves.

A NEW MONTH A NEW BEGINNING! What I need to let go of mentally now is …. What I need to embrace is …….

BIRTHDAYS are definitely new beginnings as well as a reason to celebrate and in every month, of course, there are many people who have birthdays. . Do we just go into another year without REFLECTION or do we take it as an opportunity to take stock of our lives — of where we are? To consider where we would like to be by our next birthday?

And those of us who do not have birthdays this month may find it helpful, having reflected upon September, to ask ourselves questions such as: Who do we need to forgive? For what do we need to forgive ourselves? What would we like this month to bring us? How best can we attain our wishes for the month?

I will end by the saying from Henry Ford: ‘WHETHER YOU THINK YOU CAN OR YOU CAN’T — YOU’RE RIGHT’.
