11 January 2020 — HOW TO SERVE THE WORLD
‘THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SERVE THE WORLD. YOU CAN SERVE IT, IF NOT ACTIVELY, THEN AT LEAST BY YOUR SERENITY”. (Sri Sathya Sai Baba).
To borrow words from the war time song sung by Vera Lynn if we ,‘Keep smiling through, ’til the blue skies drive the dark clouds away’ we will affect people in a positive way. This, however, is NOT always easy. How often do we let ourselves be dragged down by worry and ’what ifs’ and feelings of things not going the way we would like them to go.
And, how often indeed, when people ask us how we are do we reply in a negative way feeling very sorry for ourselves? I am not here, suggesting that we should hide our feelings of disappointment and despair just that we don’t inflict them on others and most importantly don’t let them drag us down into depression and self pity.
Life is full of ups and downs — that I believe is the way LIFE is, for all of us but, as I’ve said many times before THINGS CHANGE and so and the positive reaction is to RIDE OUT THE STORM, and wait until things DO change.
When we do ‘SMILE THROUGH’ then we will affect people positively and NOT DRAG THEM DOWN WITH US.
