11 January 2022 — WORRY AND FLURRY versus EQUANIMITY, LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE

If our chattering rational monkey mind is doing WORRY AND FLURRY instead of allowing our intuitive wise mind (our intuitive knowing) to be present, then we need to take some deep breaths and direct our minds to feeling our feelings in our solar plexus area.

It is NOT the beginning of the New Year any longer but each moment is NEW.

‘THE PAST HAS GONE, THE FUTURE IS YET TO COME, ALL WE HAVE IS THE PRESENT MOMENT’.

So why drag the past into the present? Why won’t we let it go?

WE CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST BUT THE PRESENT MOMENT IS OURS.

WHAT WE THINK IN ANY ONE MOMENT CREATES OUR FUTURE.

The way we can gain control over the chattering rational monkey mind is to develop EQUANIMITY, LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE.

We need to devote our energy to feeling our feelings in the Solar Plexus (the area of our bodies where it feels as it the bottom has fallen out when we receive bad news.)

When we have stilled our minds just a little bit we can then choose to ACCEPT THE PAST, FORGIVE AND FORGET and MOVE ON into the present moment. One aid to putting a break on the incessant chattering of the Rational Monkey Mind is to imagine we are listening to our favourite music; another is to remind ourselves of events and circumstances which make us feel happy such as when we were last in one of our favourite places etc.

To be EQUANIMOUS, that is to truly welcome all which happens to us by accepting that on one level we have chosen it, is in effect to gain control over our CHATTERING RATIONAL MONKEY MIND.

PONDER POINTS: …my thoughts on reading the above are …. what I feel about what I have read is …. I feel I last practiced equanimity in the face of upsetting circumstances when…I feel I allowed my chattering monkey mind to control me when ….I feel that I was able to see my thoughts as energy and turn that energy into feelings in my solar plexus area when….I have been aware that the discomfort in my solar plexus area gradually fades when I allow the feelings to rise and fall when ….
