13 January 2020 — A Heart With Compassion Is The Temple of God

This is one of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s sayings and like many of His sayings is not always easy for us to follow. But how much harder it is to have compassion for ourselves rather than others and unless we do have compassion for ourselves I’m not sure how genuine the compassion we have towards others is.

In other blogs I have written about the necessity of having to love our ‘selves’ before we can truly love others. This is something which does not always come naturally as we tend to remember the negative comments we have received throughout our lives rather than the positive ones.

To have compassion for ourselves is, I believe to FORGIVE ourselves rather than to condemn or to blame ourselves.
