14 March 2021 — MOTHERING SUNDAY

Yes, today is what has been designated as Mother’s Day. The day when we make a point of putting our Mothers first and remembering all they have done for us over the years. For many it can be a day tinged with sadness if the mother has died but hopefully memories of the past will compensate.

I have often wondered why we need such a day and the sceptic in me thinks it is merely a commercial ploy to get us all spending! Our Mothers, of course need to be honoured for giving birth to us even if our relationship with them is not as good as we would like.
