15 April 2021 — WHAT OTHERS THINK OF US

How concerned are we about others’ opinions of us? Why should it matter what others think of us? Is it because we respect the person and doubt ourselves or simply because it makes us feel good when others compliment us and approve of us?

It is always good to be complimented and approved of by others but NOT SO GOOD when we allow others negative opinions of us to affect us. When this happens and we are affected by what others think of us it is time to question ourselves as to WHY are self esteem is so low. Of course initially we are going to feel upset but this feeling does not have to be one which lasts and which we allow the rational mind to go over and over.

Another question to ask ourselves is are we projecting any of our feelings on to others? Are we judging and criticising others? And if we are then we need to question what it is about ourselves we are unhappy with.

The old saying goes ‘Love yourself warts and all’ which means love one’s imperfections. Very few of us, if any, are perfect.

DO NOT BE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF US, AS LONG AS IN OUR HEARTS WE CAN ACCEPT OURSELVES AND OUR ACTIONS.
