How often do we ride on the ‘IF ONLY’ wave — if only he or she hadn’t done this and would do that, if only ‘this’ would happen, if only I’D NOT SAID ‘THAT’.
How often do we look outside ourselves CRAVING for things to happen which we feel will make us happy’ ignoring the fact that INNER PEACE stems from acceptance of what is happening in the moment. And if this acceptance is based on the understanding that our reactions in the present moment create our future moments then we are allowing ourselves to say GOOD BYE to struggle.
Unfortunately the ‘if only’ wave is a CRAVING WAVE taking us well away from the present moment, from acceptance and from Inner Peace. I believe that we DO MAKE OUR OWN REALITY from how we choose to react in each moment to what is happening therein. We may decide that we are being unfairly treated, made to be a victim, scapegoated or bullied and spend our time worrying and feeling very angry but powerless to change the situation.
BUT WHAT WE ARE UNABLE TO CHANGE IS MERELY THE WAY THE OTHER PERSON IS TREATING US.
WHAT WE ARE INDEED ABLE TO CHANGE IS OUR RESPONSE TO THE SITUATION.
We have the choice of how we respond. We can accept the situation whilst at the same time exploring ways in which we can change it. And we can regain inner peace by realising that the problem is not indeed ours and through the understanding that the person making our life unhappy HAS THE PROBLEM, either with him or herself or simply because they feel jealous of us in some way.
DON’T LET THEIR PROBLEM WITH YOU BECOME YOUR PROBLEM. LOVE YOURSELF, ACCEPT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE MOMENT AND RIDE ON THE WAVE OF INNER PEACE.
