16 March 2022 —LIGHTING UP THE DARKNESS

As I sit writing this looking out of the window across the river to the street the other side, all is in darkness except for the very top of one house which has caught the sun and is shining brightly.

I was feeling a little down when I sat down to write but this view inspired me to look inside knowing that ‘somewhere the sun is always shining’ and that I can ‘make it shine for me’. So I reflected on everything in my life and instead of dwelling on the many depressing aspects of my life brought to the fore all the things I have to be grateful for. And they I discovered are many.

Why is it that we sometimes focus on the ‘things’ in our lives we find depressing rather than those which make us happy?
