18 April 2022 — EASTER MONDAY

Today, of course, is the last day of the Easter Holidays and the second day along with Saturday which has no spiritual significance. It is a Bank holiday purely intended for enjoyment’s sake.

I have this year tried very hard to bring significance into Easter with asking myself what it is I needed to ‘die to’ on Good Friday and what parts of me needed to be reborn and arise from the dead as it were, on Easter Sunday.

I’m not sure I liked the answer I got very much as the answer was the very theme of Easter — FORGIVENESS. It is easy sometimes to convince one’s self that one has forgiven but then the person and situation in question arises in one’s mind and one feels uncomfortable feelings and entertains negative thoughts!

More to the point, however, is to hope for forgiveness from people whom one has upset whether upsetting them was intentional or purely unintentional. And, whichever way it is, it is important NOT to bear a grudge or mentally dwell on the problem. In a way, Easter Monday, (although not a New Year) is a NEW BEGINNING, a chance to break even with the past and to start again!

PONDER POINTS: on reading this I felt….my thoughts on reading this were ….. I feel Easter Monday can be a new beginning for me because…what I need to move on from now is ….. the PAST IS THE PAST, TOMORROW IS YET TO COME, ALL WE HAVE IS TODAY and TODAY I WILL ……
