18 May 2022 — APATHY — ‘I CAN’T BE BOTHERED’

SO — what is it that ‘turns us OFF’ compared to what ‘turns us ON’?

Apathy can perhaps be likened to boredom, lack of enthusiasm or excitement at the thought of having to do something whilst those things which ‘turn us on’ as it were elicit enthusiasm and excitement.

What thoughts have we had today about having to get something done which has brought forth a sigh, uncomfortable feelings and negative thoughts?

What baggage are we carrying around with us from the past which make us dislike certain tasks? Why are we still carrying it around?

Our rational minds are unreliable masters and often take little persuasion to see something in a different more positive light. The CHOICE is OURS, and ours alone.

We can CHOOSE to tackle a task with enthusiasm or we can CHOOSE to put it off. often by indulging in habits which take us away from the situation temporarily, such as comfort eating and drinking, watching television, playing with our phones etc etc

There would seem to be no real choice — DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO and feel good about ourselves, or KEEP INDULGING AND PUTTIING OFF what we know does need to be accomplished!

PONDER POIINTS: On reading this I felt …. my thoughts on reading this are …the way this applies to me is …I feel this does not apply to me because…things which I have put off in the past which I later regretted were….
