18 September 2018 — ALL THE WOLD’S A STAGE AND ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN IN IT MERELY PLAYERS

The above, of course, is a quote from AS YOU LIKE IT by Shakespeare. THE POINT OF POWER certainly becomes ours when we remember this and refuse to take ourselves seriously. The problem is, however, that all too often we CHOOSE TO IDENTIFY WITH THE ROLE WE ARE PLAYING BELIEVING IT TO BE WHO WE REALLY ARE — forgetting that WE DO PLAY MANY PARTS.

We become attached to some of these parts choosing to view ourselves as a good friend, a wise person, a person who doesn’t take themselves seriously; a person who helps solve others problems; a person who stands alone and doesn’t need others, etc etc. And sometimes indeed, we become very upset if others’ peoples views of who we are don’t match our own.
