19 DECEMBER 2020 — LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT SO MAKE IT GOOD

This saying was quoted at me ad infinitum by someone who is no longer around. The way in which the saying applies to me today is that with one arm in a sling I need to take responsibility, at some level of consciousness, for in some way attracting this situation and, instead of feeling self pity or blaming LIFE, OTHER PEOPLE etc remain calm and serene.

Remembering to recite The Serenity Prayer is helpful; ‘O God give me the serenity to accept what cannot be changed , the courage to change what can be changed and the wisdom to know the difference.’

So even with one’s arm — the arm of the hand one writes with — in a sling one can make life good. We have all had to learn to adapt to the restrictions under the pandemic so making ‘the best of it’ is now embedded in our psyche.

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT SO MAKE IT GOOD. In other words be grateful for what one has and let us not desire that which we don’t have, nor compare ourselves to others judging them to have more or less than ourselves.

JOYFUL ACCEPTANCE of that which we cannot change can make LIFE GOOD whilst DESIRE FOR THINGS WHICH WE DO NOT HAVE can make LIFE TROUBLESOME AND UNSATISFACTORY.

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
