19 November 2021 — LOSING SIGHT OF THE SHORE

MAN CANNOT DISCOVER NEW OCEANS UNLESS HE HAS THE COURAGE TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE SHORE

HERE WE GO AGAIN! Leaving the past behind and stepping into the new! Why as adults do we tend to cling to the SAFETY of what we know? As babies and toddlers most of us are eager to walk and climb and explore new things.

I don’t mean to imply we are all the same. It is good for mankind generally that we do have people who are ready to explore and do new things.( NOT always good, however, for some of the established native communities whom are sometimes discovered by modern day explorers having been unknown to modern society for aeons!)

I’m not sure if age has anything to do with the reluctance to move forward and to explore new things- to lose sight of the shore as it were. Probably not- more one’s personality type. but if one has had problems throughout life in exploring the new and leaving the past behind, age will only compound this habit pattern.

So that is THE QUESTION! — ARE WE INCLINED TO STAY SAFE WITH THE KNOWN or DO WE WILLINGINGLY EMBRACE THE NEW?
