20 August 2023 — BANK HOLIDAYS
A Bank Holiday is called ‘BANK’ because it was the day on which banks were allowed to close. There is certainly a lot of our history tied up in the origin of Bank Holidays.
However, all we are truly concerned with I would imagine is NOT having to go to work and in using Bank Holidays to do something special. AND, living without Bank Holidays would be somewhat dull and boring.
Such a pity, however, that we are unable to control the weather we receive on a Bank Holiday!
