20 February 2022 — REACHING FOR THE MOON — FAILING TO SEE THE FLOWERS THAT BLOSSOM AT OUR FEET (Albert Schweitzer)
I came across this saying today and thought it a good illustration of ‘THE POINT OF POWER IS NOW’ and reinforcement of the fact that the past has gone, the future is yet to come and all we have is the Present — the Now.
It also encompasses the emotion of GRATITUDE. When we are grateful for the present moment we enjoy what is and forget about what has gone and what is to come: in other words we cease to DESIRE for things to be different, and we cease to worry about what we would like to achieve in the future.
How often do we literally NOT see the ‘blossom at our feet’ i.e. the scenery we are passing at any one moment because we are too busy thinking about what we wish to happen in the moment and worrying that we may not achieve it.
