20 June 2019 — Self Confidence

‘I have confidence in sunshine, I have confidence in rain, I have confidence that spring will come again, Besides which you see I have confidence in me.’ (The Sound of Music).

Well, I’m not sure how many of us had confidence that summer would come this year, but today it seems that it has. Self confidence (like summer!) is not always easy to hold on to as it can get eaten away by others’ responses to us and by our own self doubt..

The Point of Power will, however, NEVER BE OURS, unless we have CONFIDENCE IN ME — (My Self).

Having confidence in our ‘selves’ does NOT, OF COURSE, mean that we will always be right. Rather, I feel it means to have confidence that we are doing the best we can in any one moment and if things don’t work out it means having the confidence to KNOW that we did our best and THE CONFIDENCE to carry on acting with CONFIDENCE.

WE MUST TRUST OUR ‘SELVES’ because if we don’t no-one else will. AND of course, we must have the confidence not to mind being wrong if we should be so.

I was brought up with the saying ‘I‘F AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED, TRY, TRY AGAIN’. How many times have we been tempted to give up through lack of confidence in our ability to achieve only to find that persevering led to our succeeding?.

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
