The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year with the most hours of sunlight and it marks the beginning of summer. The Sun reaches its highest point in the sky.

It is of course also a day when people flock to Stonehenge, a monument which was built to honour both solstices as well as the equinoxes. When the sun’s light first breaks through the darkness on the day of the Summer Solstice it hits the ancient monument directly in the centre, lighting up each pillar like a magical horse shoe. Personally it is my belief that the Summer Solstice affects all of us even if we are not aware of it and are not at Stonehenge. ( I woke up at 5am and was out walking and meditating by 6am). Waking up at this time was something I had certainly not planned!

The Summer Solstice affects us all I feel by LIGHTING UP OUR INNER DARKNESS — and bringing our soul knowing to the fore thereby subduing our rational mind set.

It is a day in which we may have flashes of intuition on the direction in which we need to go in life and the areas in our life which are no longer useful to us and may safely be left behind. A day on which our soul knowing pushes itself to the fore. And, hopefully a day where we feel mostly happy!

PONDER POINTS: on reading this I felt ….my thoughts on reading this are… I feel the Summer Solstice is important because …..I feel I am totally unaffected by the Summer Solstice because ….I do feel that the summer Solstice has affected me in certain ways and these ways are ….
