22 September 2021 — IN THE HOPES OF REACHING THE MOON MEN FAIL TO SEE THE FLOWERS THAT BLOSSOM AT THEIR FEET (Albert Schweitzer)

This quote like others I have used was taken from the book ‘Believe and Achieve — A Collection of Inspirational Thoughts and Images’.

The very basic TRUTH expressed in this quote is pointing to the fact that we are all driven by desire — desire to be better, do better etc instead of adhering to the precept that ‘The Point of Power is Now’. For all of us the POINT OF POWER is the PRESENT MOMENT.

THE PAST HAVING GONE,

‘The Past is Gone, the Future is yet to come — ALL WE HAVE IS THE PRESENT MOMENT and in the context of the quote ‘ the flowers that are blossoming at our feet.’

It often seems that there are no flowers blossoming at our feet only weeds. But THE FLOWERS ARE THERE if we know how to look for them. For at least two years I gave money to a homeless man and then one day a passer by offered him a job in his café and he has been there ever since prospering and constantly being promoted. In this case one could say that the flowers blossoming at his feet were not the pennies being thrown into his hat but the passers by and the guy’s ability to relate to them and this was what led him to ‘REACHING THE MOON!

At times I found the homeless guy very depressing as he despaired of every getting out of his situation and doom and gloom was often his attitude towards life. (IN THE HOPES OF REACHING THE MOON MEN OFTEN FAIL TO SEE THE FLOWERS THAT BLOSSOM AT THEIR FEET.)

And yet at other times he would laugh and joke and be very positive and that is when, I would say, that he claimed the Point of Power as his in the moment and were the actions that led to his ‘REACHING THE MOON’ .

PONDER POINTS: how I feel about this saying is ….I feel it was relevant to me when ….tantamount for ‘ reaching the moon’ for me is ….sometimes when I feel sad and depressed the flowers at my feet which I fail to notice, I would say are ……

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
