23 June 2024 — HOMELESSNESS

This is a subject which affects me greatly because of the many people I come across each day begging for money in order that they might be able to stay in a hostel for the night.

WHY? OH WHY does this happen? Many of the homeless do have social workers who are supposed to be in the process of housing them but it doesn’t seem to be happening.

It makes me feel how lucky I am to have a roof over my head but I am very aware that ‘there but for the Grace of God go I’. And as far as the homeless people are concerned they live in the hope that they will be housed permanently.

It seems to me that in 2024 things have not and are not changing and we now live with the fact that people are and will be homeless. And some of us accept this by telling ourselves that the person is homeless because of spending their money on drink or drugs.

This blog is very similar to one I wrote a few days back showing that ‘homelessness’ is something I deplore.
