25 JUNE 2021 — PEOPLE DO CARE

Sometimes I grumble to myself about people ‘today’ when I see litter dropped everywhere, especially when there is a bin nearby and graffiti in inappropriate places such as on walls and gates which the owners have just painted.

But yesterday as I was walking home fairly late nearby people outside of licensed cafes I slipped and fell on the floor. Immediately people gathered around me, pulled me up from the ground and showed overwhelming kindness and one young man who lived in my direction insisted on seeing me safely home.

This is not the first time I have been shown such kindness from others and today, despite the fall and a few bruises, I am feeling infused with well being.

THE POINT OF POWER was certainly IN THE MOMENT yesterday in everyone.

In myself: because I refused to indulge in self pity, embarrassment or blame.

In ALL who rushed to my help, because despite how much drink they may have had they their natural instincts of caring, love and concern for others were uppermost.
