25 October 2020 — HOPING FOR CHANGE versus ADJUSTING TO AND ACCEPTING THE PRESENT SITUATION AS THE NEW NORMAL

I refer to the present time and Coronavirus. This morning pundits on the radio discussing the current situation have suggested that in their opinion it will be 2022 until the virus will stop infecting people and 2024 until things will be back to normal. They also suggested that the virus was not as bad as smallpox but worse than the flu.

Initially this really depressed me. I have previously written about our present situation as being the ‘new normal’ and our need to ADJUST TO WHAT IS but it hasn’t stopped me wishing things were different and hoping that they would change. Historically it does seem that the fate of the world is from time to time to be afflicted with epidemics which kill off many many of its citizens!

The question to which there seems to be no answer is WHY DO WE ATTRACT THESE EPIDEMICS?

In the meantime all we can do is ACCEPT AND ADJUST.
