26 July 20 2024 — HOW WE SEE THE RATIONAL MIND AS BEING US and ALLOW IT TO DICTATE OUR ACTIONS.
I will start with a poem by Walter D Wintle:
“If you think you are beaten you are, If you think you dare not, you don’t, if you like to win but think you can’t, It’s almost certain you won’t.”
“If you think you’ll lose you’re lost, for out of the world we find success begins with a fellow’s will, it’s all in the state of mind.”
“If you think you’re outclassed you are, you’ve got to think high to rise, You’ve got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win a prize.”
“Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man, but soon or late the man who wins, IS THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN.”
On a rational level this makes a lot of sense and holds a lot of truth but it seems to neglect the fact that man (and woman) ARE NOT MERELY THE BODY but SOULS IN A BODY.
Before we set our sights on something and devote our life to doing it, or before we weigh up a situation rationally it might be a good idea to pray to the deeper parts of us and get the feeling whether we are aiding ourselves and humanity in love and truth.
I now quote White Eagle “ when carried away by joy or overwrought by pain, or any time when you are emotionally overstressed, you are like a frail boat tossed about in a storm. Yet within everyone awaits the sleeping Master, the indwelling Christ. When at last you can call upon Him in your distress crying ‘Master; help me!’ you are appealing not to any outside teacher but to the Christ within. “
“You cry, ‘O Thou who art light and power and love, come to my aid!’ Then tranquillity steals over you. You are at last aware of an indwelling strength and you become still. Perhaps later when you have trained yourself in meditation, you can feel yourself rise as on a shaft of light at this time. You then have power to function on a plane superior to this one and looking down upon your emotional disturbance you will see it for what it is.”
Whilst we think we are separate from all else and are governed by our Ego Selves our Souls await in the background, to be recognised for more than just flashes of INTUITION and for us to understand the difference between our EGO SELF and the KNOWING THAT WE ARE SOULS IN A BODY.
