I am taking the lines from this Bette Middler song out of context as i am NOT using them to refer to a relationship with another person but to the way we relate to LIFE: to its UPS and DOWNS.

Most of us have unfulfilled dreams.

‘Giving’, ‘taking’, ‘One’s heart breaking’ is a part of all of our lives as is the death of a loved one. That is not to forget, of course, that wonderful things also happen in our lives. We experience great ‘UP’ times as well as the not so good ‘DOWN’ times.
