27 August 2020 — LOVE

It’s been a day when receiving very disappointing news has been balanced with bumping into quite a few of the people I truly love.

The disappointing news resulted in an outright rejection of something of which I was very proud but after unexpectedly meeting a few of the people I truly love I was able to view the happenings of the day with some perspective.

Love for friends and family fills one’s heart and banishes selfish concerns of our own whilst we selflessly listen to what the other person has to say. After the chance meetings with friends and family I felt good and I realised that my ‘great’ disappointment was not that great after all — certainly not ‘great’ enough to plunge me into being depressed through feeling a failure.

The key to getting things into perspective is, of course, to realise that everything really does happen for a purpose and if only we are able to LOVE whatever happens to us instead of being attached to our expectations, then we are able to move forward knowing that ‘nothing is set in stone’ and something else will turn up, it usually does, if only we are open enough to recognise it when it does.
