27 December 2018 — When We Are Sure of Who We Are, Our Joy and Sense of Fun Radiate Near and Far.

Well, Christmas is over for another year and today seems to be the day when everyone asks each other ‘did you have a good Christmas’? So what is a good Christmas? Being with your nearest and dearest, knowing who we are and feeling joy and an innate sense of fun? Or eating and drinking too much and feeling safe at being disappointed at the presents we receive or at others’ responses to the presents we gave them? Does the latter have to cancel out the former? Not necessarily I would say. Our need to eat and drink too much is in a large part, tradition and sometimes we find being with some of the people for whom it is traditional for us to spend Christmas can make us feel uncomfortable and often our expectations of how Christmas will be are not met. But when we are able to be true to ourselves and to feel our joy in being who we are, we are able to accept things as they are in a lighthearted way and let our joy and sense of fun radiate near and far.
