3 April 2021 — BENDING IN THE WIND

‘Bend in the wind’ BUT keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. In many ways ‘bending in the wind’ is giving us the same advice as the ‘hippy’ saying which exhorts us to ‘go with the flow’.

When I instruct myself to ’bend with the wind’ or ‘to go with the flow’ it as a reminder NOT to let the energy of others affect me. I can bend or flow with their energy or dodge their energy but I refuse to let the energy of others ‘blow me over’ or ‘push me off course’.

As ever the most important part of feeling good with one’s self is to be in touch with that part of us which intuitively knows what is the right action for us and that whatever presents itself to us from others and life in general, is that which that part of us has chosen for a reason. Hence ‘Bending in the wind’ or, ‘Going with the flow’ makes our lives much easier than if we become angry with what life is presenting us with or, if we resist or resent it or indulge in self pity.

I still remember the time when I indulged in self pity so much so that a friend often felt she had occasion to say to me that she wouldn’t come to my ‘Pity Party’.

Today Easter Saturday, is, of course the day between Good Friday (sacrifice) and Easter Sunday (redemption). Time perhaps, for us to ponder on the saying ‘Life is what you make it — so make it good’.

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
