3 May 2020 — AL THE WORLD’S A STAGE

All The World’s A Stage and All the men and women in it merely players. (Shakespeare: As You Like It)

In using this quote I wish to emphasise the STAGE part rather than the ‘parts each individual plays through life’ — schoolboy young man etc. However, the individual parts we play upon the Stage have been very much affected by the fact that the World Stage has altered through LOCKDOWN. No longer are we free to visit and hug friends and family, or to sit in pubs or cafes. We are advised only to go out to exercise or for shopping and to the chemist keeping a two metre distance between us and other people. AND to wear face masks.

The World Stage then has altered out of all recognition. How are we liking the NEW PART WE ARE FORCED TO PLAY?
My answer is that I have been disliking it intensely. taking it much too seriously but when I consider that it is just another part I’m playing along with that of Mother, Grandmother, Friend etc it rather puts it into perspective and allows me to reflect upon how I can play the part better and take on board that the World Stage, for the time being has changed.

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
