30 March 2019 — INTUITION RULES OK!

--

Today I’ve been to the garden centre buying the plants I liked and then reading the instructions as to what soil and general conditions to plant them in. I passed a man with the same plant as I had bought who told me that the liked that type of plant so much this was the 4th one he had bought and then he went on to inform me that all his plants were flourishing even though he hadn’t planted them according to the instructions. A person after my own heart!

The detailed instructions on where plants should be planted is in my view a case of science taking over from our intuitive knowing. Left brain over right brain knowing. I make a habit pattern of what I call ‘tuning into’ the plant and and hoping to get a ‘feeling’ of where to plant it. Up until now I would say that this has largely worked and my garden is blooming. The irony is, is that most of my garden is shady and not in full sun anyway.

I do, of course, realise the difference between my little garden and that of big formal gardens which give us, the general public, much pleasure and that in those gardens plants need to be planted in the places in which they are scientifically known to thrive.

But the ‘moral’ of this story is merely to urge us to have the confidence to know when to trust our intuition.
