6 January 2020 — Patience Is All The Strength Man Needs (Sri Sathya Sai Baba)

I was in a long queue waiting to be served today, and talked to the lady next to me about patience and then came home and pulled the above Sri Sathya Sai Baba card.

And am now asking myself ‘why do I find it so hard to be patient?’ I have tried hard to develop patience over the years but am still a’want everything done yesterday’ person. This despite the fact that I have also developed a habit pattern of taking deep breaths, tuning into my Solar Plexus area, and letting go of my thoughts. So somewhere along the line the mind at times chooses flurry and worry about having to wait.

Our rational minds do like to control, feel in charge and rule our intuitive wise sides. Only when the mind can view flurry and worry as suffering will it choose to drop it and choose to be patient. After all, all the flurry and worry in the world won’t make the queue dissolve any quicker.

Patience IS All The Strength One Needs simply because when we are being patient we are accepting a situation which we are unable to change; we are in touch with our intuitive sides and we are NOT getting ourselves into a state. And we are NOT creating more problems for ourselves through worry and flurry because when the mind is at peace with the situation it feels happy and if it wonders it will dwell on happy occasions.
