7 December 2022 — WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD IT WOULD BE IF ONLY ….

What a wonderful would it would be if …..I daresay we all have our own answer to that one! Mine is ‘if only people would clear up after themselves and ‘walk through the world harmlessly’.

The roads I have walked along today have all been strewn with litter — cans, paper, empty sandwich boxes and cartons.

Today I read a message posted by somebody from The Sea Sanctuary Trust which read: ‘Following repairs to the Pelican in Albion Dry Dock we sailed around the UK with a team of young scientists supporting our Marine Litter Survey; we didn’t find a single beach that wasn’t polluted with plastic’.

How things have changed since ‘the olden days’ (the phrase my granddaughter uses to refer to my youth) when it was considered a crime to drop litter in the streets. We just didn’t do it as children as we were only too aware of how our parents would react and that we would be punished for it.
