7 March 2022 — FAULTY VISION

I have recently started wearing my glasses after months of not wearing them because of laziness and because I didn’t really care if I didn’t see the world clearly. Indeed sometimes I would tell myself it was better to see some things through a haze!!

Today I came across this saying from Sri Sathya Sai Baba — ‘Man must have equal sight. He must look upon all things with as much faith and love as he has for himself./ For there is nothing evil in creation. Evil appears only as such through faulty vision. Creation gets coloured by the nature of the glasses man wears. By itself it is eternally pure and holy’.

Wow! was my reaction to this. In my heart I know this is true but its quite a lot to take on board! As i write this I notice a guy cycling at speed along the pavement outside the house — a very narrow pavement when the pavement the other side of the road has a cycle lane. This causes me to feel cross and upset. I do not consider the act to be evil as such, of course, but certainly very anti-social and annoying!! And yet others I know have sympathy with the cyclists as the pavement is not that well used and it is a very busy road to cross. I feel the problem is mine — and I need to change the glasses I am wearing which makes me view the incident in this way.

Another guy has just passed wheeling his bicycle!!
