8 February 2019 — How To Make The Sun Shine On The Inside When It Is Raining On The Outside

Sunny weather raises our spirits and makes us feel good physically, mentally and spiritually. The sun provides vitamin D which our bodies need thereby promoting the tendency for us to see things positively rather than negatively hence allowing us to feel a part of everything rather than the rational mind (left brain hemisphere) taking over our ‘soul’ (right brain hemisphere) and plunging us into DUALITY.

But when our outside world is grey and dull, windy or rainy we tend to feel a bit low in spirits and it often feels that we are battling against the elements and the outside world and duality reigns supreme!

SO how do we make the sun shine for us on the inside? And my answer is by remembering that JOY is our basic essence and recalling those occasions which make us feel happy and joyful rather than allowing the mind to be sunk in doom and gloom. And also by remembering the Buddhist precept of impermanence — everything is impermanent ie, it rises and falls in the moment. All physical and mental events states Buddhism come into being and dissolve.

The choice is ours: accept and embrace what is happening in each moment remembering that the past is gone and the future is yet to come OR ‘do’ worry and regret knowing that all the worry and regret in the world won’t change the past but will affect the present and future in a negative manner.

THERE IS NOTHING EITHER GOOD OR BAD BUT THINKING MAKES IT SO (Hamlet-William Shakespeare)

My writing is based on the understanding that ‘we’, (each of us individually) create our own reality through our feelings, thoughts and actions.
