ATTACHMENT TO THE OLD versus ADAPTING TO CHANGE

Today I feel sad because a young girl, the granddaughter of friends became very attached to me — an old lady. She would ask to go out with me and we visited many places in Bristol. I always expected that sooner or later we would arrive at a day when she no longer wished to be friends with me. Now this has happened, however, I am feeling very sad.

I need to feel my sadness and allow it to rise and fall until is dissipates aware of the fact that ALL THINGS CHANGE.

4 August 2022 — BEARING GRUDGES — DRAGGING THE PAST INTO THE PRESENT OR, FORGIVING AND FORGETTING

Today I talked to someone who was telling me about why she was feeling upset. What she was telling me was about something which had happened in the past of which she hadn’t been able to let go. In other words she was ‘bearing a grudge’!

I couldn’t help thinking if only she could ‘forgive and forget’ she would be free to live in the present moment and feel joy and not carry the past around with her.

3 August 2022 — STAYING TRUE TO WHO ONE IS

Sometimes others will make comments about us such as ‘You OK? You look bit down’ and this often gets our minds working overtime — are we OK? Is there something bothering us of which we were not aware?

The people making these remarks, of course, say them out of concern and kindness but what we must bear in mind in these circumstances is the saying ‘To thine own self be true’.

How we appear to others is often more a reflection of how they themselves are feeling. Of course, if we are NOT feeling good then we can take their enquiry as an invitation to offload on to them!

2 August 2022 — HABITUAL BEHAVIOUR

Are our habits Good or Bad? Or perhaps it would be more appropriate to say helpful or unhelpful in contributing to our leading a peaceful, healthy and happy life. The answer for most of us is probably a mixture of the two.

At the moment I am in a position where I am trying to cultivate a ‘good’ habit of exercising regularly and to give up a ‘bad’ habit of picking at food in between meals.

Neither of which I find easy but then PERSEVERANCE IS THE KEY!!

30 July 2022 — HEAD BOWED OR HELD UP HIGH?

When we feel good about ourselves, we automatically walk straight and tall. When, however, we are consumed with wondering whether or not we did the right thing and with worry that we did not, our heads tend to be bowed.

If we would only remember to keep our heads up our posture would aid our feelings of well being and joy at being alive.

Today my blog is taken from the Oracle Cards included in the book ‘Daily Guidance From Your Angels’ by Doreen Virtue. The card I am using is entitled ‘FOCUS ON SERVICE’ and reads:

‘Your soul desires only to joyfully serve, and to swim in a constant stream of bliss. This stream continuously feeds you everything you need. Put your entire focus upon staying in this stream of giving and receiving in every situation, and in all that you do’.

28 July 2022 — HOT AND BOTHERED

‘Hot and bothered’ certainly describes my state of being today. The question I need to ask myself is WHY am I allowing myself to be in this state.

What is the solution? How can I be cool, calm and relaxed? As with everything else it is a choice so, why am I choosing this state of mind? What is it that I am avoiding knowing? That all is well? That there are no problems?

ACCEPTANCE IS ALL and EVERYTHING CHANGES. The solution, of course, is to go with the RISE AND FALL.
