ADAPTING = GIVING WITHOUT COUNTING THE COST!
Today we are celebrating a birthday in the family BUT oh how difficult it is to arrange with all the restrictions due to the coronavirus. But then, that does seem rather selfish and narrow minded when so many people are dying from it!
Many people have said to me in passing that they will be glad when things get back to ‘normal’ and, of course, they mean get back to how things were; whilst other people talk about things never being as they were and our needing to welcome a ‘NEW normal.’ Well, we have all had to adapt in order to cope with the lockdown and the restrictions and I believe we will all need to go on adapting to change — to things being different. Whether we find this easy or difficult depends on our mind set as to how ADAPTABLE WE ARE and our attitude to change. If we fear and resent change and are stuck in our ways then we will find adapting very difficult.
What indeed, does being ‘ADAPTABLE’ mean. My answer to that is ‘GIVING WITHOUT COUNTING THE COST’. And to whom are we giving? Perhaps each other, the society at large and also to ourselves as well.
